SUMMARY:Mining the Moon for Profit: A Case Study in Space Resource Utilization
DESCRIPTION:The Secure World Foundation is partnering with the SDA Bocconi School of Management-Space Economy Evolution (SEE) Lab\, and the George Washington University Space Policy Institute to organize a one-day invitation only workshop on March 11th\, in Milan\, Italy entitled “Mining the Moon for Profit: A Case Study in Space Resource Utilization.” It is part of a series of workshops analyzing the evolution of a sustainable space environment and economy. \n\n\n\nThe workshop aims to provide increased understanding of the economic uncertainties in this area\, as a resource to both the business and policy communities. In doing so the workshop will discuss the following (and other) questions: \n\n\n\nIs space resource utilization sustainable with only non-government customers? \n\n\n\nWhat is the role for the government as a purchaser of services/products?What PPP models are important/appropriate to enable the development of a private-sector market in space resources? \n\n\n\nParticipation in this event is by invitation only. For more information\, please direct any questions to SWF Director of Private Sector Programs\, Ian Christensen. \n\n\n\nClick here to see the event’s agenda.
