SUMMARY:Cultural Considerations WG webinar - What is the philosophy of space and why is it important?
DESCRIPTION:Free Regisatration \n\n\n\nhttps://us02web.zoom.us/webinar/register/WN_8SDw6NSwQ4e5QsIhPCNzgg \n\n\n\nAgenda\n\n\n\n\nRemo Rapetti: Welcome address\n\n\n\nChristopher Cokinos: Introduction\n\n\n\nRebecca Lowe: The Philosophy of Space: Opportunity\, Value\, and Obligation\n\n\n\n\n“How should property ownership work in space? How should human space experience be regulated? What obligations do humans have to non-human life in space? These three questions offer a route into conceiving of space as a special source of philosophical enquiry.” (Rebecca Lowe) \n\n\n\nRebecca Lowe is Philosophy Senior Research Fellow at the Mercatus Center\, where she is also Director of Emerging Scholars. She is working on two books: ‘Freedom in Utopia’\, and ‘Speaking Freely’. She writes a Substack called ‘the ends don’t justify the means’\, and hosts a podcast called ‘Working Definition’. She often writes about space\, and until recently served as Consulting Space Philosopher for a strategic space advisory firm. Her space publications include an article on the value of space activity for Economic Affairs\, a follow-up piece for the American Philosophical Association blog on the value of private space activity\, and a paper for the Adam Smith Institute on lunar property rights. Other highlights have included appearing on the Planetary Society’s podcast\, and giving a keynote talk for the Flight Software Workshop at Johns Hopkins.

SUMMARY:Back to the Moon webinar Ep 1: Artemis 2 - Science & Industry
DESCRIPTION:Artemis II marked humanity’s first crewed journey beyond low Earth orbit since Apollo 17 — and it carried a new generation of science with direct relevance to industry\, medicine\, and the future of human exploration. In this opening session\, Prof. Joseph “Sci” Borg (University of Malta) and Satoru Kurosu join us to unpack what Artemis II means beyond the mission itself. \n\n\n\nJoseph brings a space biology perspective\, exploring the biological and medical questions Artemis II begins to answer and how that knowledge translates into applications in drug development\, radiation medicine\, and personalized healthcare. Satoru offers an industry lens\, examining the commercial opportunities emerging from the Artemis ecosystem and the practical barriers companies face today. Together\, they will discuss the partnerships and capabilities needed to turn Artemis science into real-world products and services\, and share advice for the next generation looking to work at this frontier. \n\n\n\nJoin us on June 2 at 14:00 CEST for this one-hour live event with moderated discussion and audience Q&A. \n\n\n\nRegister on Zoom: https://us02web.zoom.us/webinar/register/WN_7AIhHTEiS2KgWUS4KhMvDg

SUMMARY:Moon Architecture FORUM Series - Episode 1: Moon Village – From Vision to Reality – What’s Next?
DESCRIPTION:The Architectural Concepts Working Group of the Moon Village Association aims to foster an interdisciplinary platform for exploring architectural strategies\, technology and standards enabling solutions as well as spatial concepts for a future Moon Village. The group brings together expertise from architecture\, engineering\, human factors\, environmental and social sciences\, and related fields to address key challenges from multiple perspectives. Through regular thematic forums\, the Working Group will focus on specific topics—ranging from habitat design and construction to environmental constraints and human experience in extreme environments. \n\n\n\nThe objective is to encourage open exchange\, critical discussion\, and the integration of diverse viewpoints in order to develop holistic and forward-looking architectural approaches that contribute to the broader Moon Village vision and strengthen collaboration across MVA Working Groups and to provide actionable concepts to the international community. \n\n\n\nAs part of this initiative\, the Architectural Concepts Working Group is launching the Moon Architecture FORUM Series — a recurring online forum dedicated to discussion\, knowledge exchange\, and future-oriented thinking around lunar architecture and habitation. Each forum will focus on a dedicated theme and provide a space for interdisciplinary interchange\, serious discussion\, speculative thinking\, and the sharing of ideas\, research\, and experiences. The forum is intended as an open platform to collectively explore future directions and move the conversation forward\, and takes place on a quarterly basis. \n\n\n\nThe first forum is held under the theme:“Moon Village – From Vision to Reality – What’s Next?”It will take place on MOONday\, 13 July\, at 5:00 PM (CET). \n\n\n\nThis inaugural forum will explore different opinions\, philosophies\, and concepts surrounding the original idea of the Moon Village\, tracing how the vision of a human presence on the Moon has evolved through contributions from space agencies\, architects\, engineers\, researchers\, designers\, and thinkers across disciplines. \n\n\n\nRather than treating the Moon Village as a fixed concept\, the discussion approaches it as an open and evolving framework shaped by diverse interpretations — ranging from technological and infrastructural solutions to cultural\, social\, architectural\, and philosophical perspectives on future lunar life. \n\n\n\nMore info coming soon
