Call for Applications to the Position of MVA Treasurer
The Moon Village Association (MVA) invites applications for the position of MVA Treasurer. The MVA Treasurer is an MVA Board Position.
Desired Qualifications
- At least 10 years of experience in the space field, or equivalent
- Responsible, reliable, and diligent character
- Interpersonal skills
- Experience in financial issues, including:
- invoicing,
- accounting,
- bank operations,
- budget preparations,
- audits
Scope of Related Activities
General
- Responsibility for the proper financial management of the Association.
- Assumed knowledge of the related rules described in the MVA Statute and the MVA Bylaws, namely Art. 15 of the Statute, and Art. 2, Art. 3, Art. 6, sec. 5, Art. 14, Art. 15 of the Bylaws.
Specific
1. Bank operations:
- Become the MVA representative for the Bank, to establish access to the MVA Bank account via the dedicated internet banking system (requires personal involvement and cooperation with Guarant).
- Become a holder of the MVA credit card connected to the MVA Bank account (requires personal involvement and collaboration with Guarant).
- Pay bills incurred by the MVA by entering a bank transfer order through the internet banking system, and request via email that the Guarant officer co-sign the order.
- Get access to and learn the use of the STRIPE payment system for understanding the bank statements.
2. Financial administration:
- Maintain the financial records of the MVA (accounting).
- Send invoices when agreed in advance (typically to MVA members and sponsors).
- Keep the updated list of MVA institutional and individual members, which means keeping track of new, renewed, and cancelled memberships.
- Assess and sign written documents of the MVA in financial matters.
3. Reporting:
- Prepare the draft of the MVA Budget for the next year in line with the approved work plan and submit it to the Board for assessment.
- Submit monthly financial reports to the Board, presenting completed transactions during the period from the last report, the situation in individual items of the Budget plan, and expected financial operations in the next month.
- Prepare the final financial report for the last year and submit it to the Board for approval.
- Prepare and provide requested documents and explanations to Auditors and secure the Auditor report for in-time assessment by the Board.
