About the Moon Village Analogue Working Group
There can be no effective lunar exploration or settlement without terrestrial analogue activities. Lunar analogues are essential for conducting scientific research, testing engineering prototypes, and engaging in outreach—core components in preparing for the implementation of the Moon Village.
The Moon Village Analogue Working Group (WG) provides a forum to identify and coordinate terrestrial analogue activities in support of the Moon Village. It also explores the Moon’s potential as an analogue/testbed for future Mars and deep space exploration. The WG promotes the development of analogue sites around the world, especially as tools for capacity-building in emerging space nations and for public engagement.
