Call for Proposals to Host the 10th Global Moon Village Workshop & Symposium – 2026
The Moon Village Association (MVA) invites proposals to host the 10th edition of its annual Global Moon Village Workshop & Symposium, to be held in late 2026. This milestone event will mark a decade of global collaboration and innovation in support of humanity’s sustainable presence on the Moon.
Since its first edition in Strasbourg in 2017, the Workshop & Symposium has become the flagship event of the MVA. It gathers experts, stakeholders, and enthusiasts from all over the world to discuss technical progress, policy developments, and MVA’s ongoing and future activities.
The 9th edition will be held in Turin, Italy, on December 3–4, 2025. The 10th edition offers a unique opportunity to celebrate the evolution of the Moon Village concept and set the stage for the future of lunar exploration.
Past Editions at a Glance
Since 2017, the Global Moon Village Workshop & Symposium has been hosted in cities across Europe, North America, and Asia, in collaboration with leading universities, space agencies, and organizations. Highlights include:
- 2017 – Strasbourg, France, hosted with the International Space University (ISU)
- 2018 – Los Angeles, USA, with the University of Southern California (USC) and National Space Society (NSS)
- 2019 – Tokyo & Kyoto, Japan, with Tokyo University of Science, Keio University, and Kyoto University
- 2020–2021 – Nicosia, Cyprus, held online, with the Cyprus Space Exploration Organization (CSEO)
- 2022 – Los Angeles, USA, with NSS
- 2023 – Kurashiki & Tottori, Japan, with local universities and support from JAXA
- 2024 – Luxembourg, with the Luxembourg Space Agency (LSA)
- 2025 – Turin, Italy, with local institutional partners (upcoming)
Each edition draws 150–250 participants and features rich technical, policy, and outreach discussions.
About the Event
The Global Moon Village Workshop & Symposium is typically held over 2-2.5 days between November and December. It features:
- An opening evening reception or special event
- Two full days of Plenary Sessions and Working Sessions
- An optional outreach activity (0.5 to 1 day in duration)
- Networking opportunities, including lunches, coffee breaks, and a formal dinner
Expected attendance: 150–200 international participants, with potential for more.
Proposal Requirements
Interested hosts should provide the following information:
1. Tentative Dates and Venue
- Preferred dates between November and December 2026
- Venue must include:
- A plenary room for at least 150–200 participants
- 5 breakout rooms for working sessions (20–30 participants each)
- Catering areas for breaks, lunches, and a dinner (dinner may be off-site if specified)
2. Accommodation
- List of nearby hotels, including one main hotel for which special rates can be arranged
- Estimated prices for participants
3. Fees and Sponsorship
- Tentative participation fees and what they include (note if dinner is included or separate)
- Method of fee collection
- Ability to attract sponsorship (local, national, or international)
4. Local Support and Logistics
- Availability of local staff or volunteers to support logistics (e.g., presentations, technical support)
- Support for handling visa issues
- Optional: proposals for social activities or local tours for accompanying persons
MVA Responsibilities
MVA will support the selected host by:
- Establishing an International Program Committee (IPC)
- Creating and maintaining the event website
- Confirming the schedule, registration fees, and logistics timeline
- Managing abstract submission and speaker engagement
- Conducting international promotion via MVA channels
- Providing official use of the MVA name and logo
- Coordinating production of an event leaflet
Financial Arrangements
- A formal contract will be signed between MVA and the Local Organizing Committee (LOC) at least six months prior to the event.

Selection and Announcement
The selected host will be informed and then announced on 4 December 2025, during the Closing Ceremony of the 9th Global Moon Village Workshop & Symposium in Turin.
