Announcement of Winners – MVA Moon Market Annual Award 2026 4th edition -“2026 Bangkok Special East-Asia Edition”

10th MVA W&S 26-27 October 2026 – Bangkok, Thailand

The 2026 4th edition of the MVA Moon Market Annual Award successfully took place at the occasion of the 10th MVA Workshop & Symposium (W&S) on 26-27 October 2026 in Bangkok, Thailand, with a focus on the Asia-Pacific region. This year, the MVA Moon Market Annual Award 4th was called the “2026 Bangkok Special East-Asia Edition.” The pre-selection boiled down to 3 countries (Japan, South-Korea, China) and 9 nominees.

The Award winners are:

Here are the Award rationale for the 3 winners:

For Japan, ispace wins in the category Special Award for Lunar Game Changer in the activity of Payload Cislunar Transportation Services, for Lunar Markets such as science, data, infrastructure, and services.

The company/project is recognized for its Mobile Cargo System (MCS) cislunar payload transportation service and its agreement with SpaceX to secure 500 kg of payload capacity aboard Starship, enabling more cost-effective lunar transportation.

The Award was received by Atsushi SAIKI on behalf of Takashi HAKAMADA, CEO ispace, JAPAN.

For South Korea, Hanwha Solutions – Qcells wins in the category Special Award for Lunar Stakeholders International Cooperation, in the activity of Perovskite-silicon tandem solar cells for Lunar Markets such as energy, habitat, infrastructure.

The company/project is recognised for lunar stakeholders international cooperation including NASA and Europe, geared toward sustainable energy supply for the Moon. The Qcells solar technology was selected to fly to the lunar surface as part of the STEFF-1 mission in collaboration with NASA, involving strong cooperation with Qcells’ Germany-based R&D center. 

The Award is bestowed to ”Andy” PARK Seung-deok, President & CEO HANWHA SOLUTIONS – QCELLS.

For China, CAS SPACE wins in the category Special Award for Lunar Infrastructure, in the activity of. Cislunar Transportation, adressing payloads market for cislunar space and the Moon. 

The company/project is recognized for its Kinastra-1 / Lixun-1 upper stage contribution, enabling cislunar transportation missions with payload translunar injection.

The Award is bestowed to Dr. YANG Yiqiang, Founder, CEO & Chairman, CAS SPACE, CHINA.
