Announcement of Winners – PromoMoon Initiative in partnership with Yuzhnoye State Design Office

Several months ago, the Moon Village Association (MVA) in cooperation with the leading Ukrainian space engineering company – Yuzhnoye State Design Office launched the PromoMoon Initiative in honor of Alexander Degtyarev– aimed to inspire the new generation of inventors to develop ideas for future sustainable lunar activities and provide an opportunity to advance the engineering maturity level.

The initiative received 15 excellent proposals from teams of individuals and startups from all 10 different countries presenting novel ideas, concepts and solutions on lunar technologies falling under the following categories: 1) transportation to and from the Moon, 2) transportation on the Moon surface, 3) Energy and power on the Moon, 4) Infrastructure, construction and manufacturing on the Moon and others.

After the final round of evaluation, it is our pleasure to announce the winners of this year’s PromoMoon Initiative who will be receiving free-of-charge B2B mentorship from experts on lunar technologies. In addition, the teams will be given the opportunity for their work to be featured in a paper to be presented at the International Astronautical Congress (IAC) in Paris this September 2022. Congratulations!

Moon Village Association

The Moon Village Association (MVA) has been recently created as non-governmental organization (NGO) based in Vienna. Its goal is the creation of a permanent global informal forum for stakeholders like governments, industry, academia and the public interested in the development of the Moon Village. The MVA fosters cooperation for existing or planned global moon exploration programs, be they public or private initiatives. It comprises of more than 600 participants to MVA activities from more than 50 countries and 33 Institutional members around the globe, representing a diverse array of technical, scientific, cultural and interdisciplinary fields.
MVA partners with non-space organizations to promote international discussions and formulation of plans to foster the implementation of the Moon Village and is creating international, national and regional networks to engage civil society around the world.
