SSC and Masten Space Systems sign agreement for 2023 lunar mission
SSC and Masten Space Systems has signed an agreement to provide communications support for Masten’s upcoming mission to the lunar south pole scheduled to launch in 2023. The agreement was announced today at the International Astronautical Congress (IAC) 2021 in Dubai.
“We’re thrilled to partner with SSC as we build a thriving lunar ecosystem,” says Colin Ake, Vice President of Lunar Development at Masten. “Ultimately, our goal is to unlock the value in space to benefit humans on Earth. We’ll start by providing regular access to the Moon, and then we’ll help extract and utilize extraterrestrial resources.”
“We are very proud to team up with Masten for this exciting lunar campaign, their first of many planned missions to the lunar surface and beyond,” says Sam Peterson, Business Development Director Americas at SSC.
