The Moon Village Association (MVA) is pleased to announce an opening for the position of Legal Advisor Support Officer.
This is a volunteer position that will support the Legal Advisor in managing the Association’s day-to-day legal and governance matters. The successful candidate will work closely with the Legal Advisor and assist with contractual matters, and other legal tasks as required.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the Legal Advisor in addressing the Association’s day-to-day legal matters.
- Assist in maintaining and reviewing the Association’s Statutes, Bylaws, and related governance documents.
- Support legal aspects of partnerships, sponsorships, events, and other Association activities.
- Perform other legal and administrative tasks as delegated by the Legal Advisor, President, or Board.
Desired Qualifications
- Law degree (LL.B., JD, or equivalent) required.
- Master’s degree (LL.M.) and/or PhD in Law is highly desirable.
- Professional or academic experience in domestic and/or international law.
- Knowledge of contract law and legal document review.
- Experience with non-profit organizations, associations, or NGOs is considered an asset.
- Knowledge of space law or space-related legal issues is considered an advantage.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Knowledge of German is considered a significant advantage
Commitment
This is a volunteer position and is expected to require a few hours per week, depending on the Association’s ongoing activities and legal needs.
